FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. It has been set up by the GLASS AND GLAZING FEDERATION (GGF), with Government approval, in response to the new Building Regulations for England and Wales

All replacement glazing in dwellings now comes within the scope of the Building Regulations. Anyone who installs replacement windows or doors will have to comply with improved thermal performance standards.

When having their windows and doors replaced ,homeowners must ensure that they get a certificate from Local Authority Building Control or have the work completed by a FENSA Registered Company

One of the main reasons for this change to the Building Regulations is the need to reduce energy loss.

Aveley Window Systems has been registered with FENSA since March 2003 and to ensure that our clients receive the best and safest upvc products we observe the FENSA code of conduct and follow the relevent building codes, as a quick guide this means:

ALL GLASS WILL BE LOW EMISSION COMPLIANT WITH PART ‘L’ BUILDING REGS

ALL GLASS THAT IS LESS THAN 800MM FROM THE FLOOR / 300MM FROM A DOOR WILL BE TOUGHENED COMPLIANT

 WITH PART ‘N’ BUILDING REGS

 

ALL 'WET ROOMS' (BATH /KITCHEN) AND ROOMS THAT REQUIRE GAS VENTING WILL HAVE TRICKLE VENTILATION FITTED TO THE WINDOW SASH

 

ALL RESIDENTIAL SINGLE DOORS WILL HAVE 10 POINT RHINO HIGH SECURITY LOCKS AS STANDARD

 

ALL RESIDENTIAL FRENCH DOORS WILL HAVE 8 POINT RHINO HIGH SECURITY LOCKS AS STANDARD

 

ALL RESIDENTIAL DOORS HAVE HIGH SECURITY 'ANTI-LIFT' HINGES AS STANDARD

 

ALL WINDOWS HAVE HIGH SECURITY MULTIPLE LOCKING WITH ‘NIGHT VENT’ FEATURE AS STANDARD

ALL WINDOWS SITUATED IN BEDROOMS/HABITABLE ROOMS WITHOUT ESCAPE DOOR WILL HAVE AT LEAST ONE OPENER THAT COMPLIES WITH FIRE ESCAPE REGULATIONS TO ALLOW EASY EXIT

 

ALL WORK IS COVERED BY OUR IN-HOUSE 10 YEAR GUARANTEE AND AN INDEPENDENT INSURANCE BACKED GURANTEE SUPPLIED BY THE IPWFI AND IF A 25% DEPOSIT IS TAKEN, THIS WILL COVERED UNDER THE IPWFI’S DEPOSIT PROTECTION SCHEME.

 

 

AS A FENSA REGISTERED AND APPROVED INSTALLER, YOUR INSTALLATION WILL BE COVERED BY A FENSA BUILDING CODE CERTIFICATE AND UNDER THE TERMS OF OUR AGREEMENT WITH FENSA, THEY MAY ASK TO INSPECT OUR WORK EITHER DURING OR AFTER THE INSTALLATION.
